Very often in our lives, we celebrate the birthdays of our loved ones, friends, cousins, and all personal and work achievements. There is always a way to celebrate, and it is a good way to keep your spirit high and well-being.

Positive reinforcement, especially as a child, can make a huge difference in building confidence in them. When I was in grade 6, my teacher told me that I would not be able to be a nurse; I felt very angry for many years. It was not a good way to increase my confidence and self-esteem. As you all know, it is following you up to adulthood.

Many years have passed since it happened. A few years ago, I took a class in communication, and one evening, my friend told me: ” Gaétane, maybe that teacher had developed the firm determination that you have today. ”

I did not think about it, but she was right. Although it was not necessarily a good experience, I decided to forgive her instead of feeling resentment and wanted to release that negative emotion from me. Moreover, I was proud of myself because I succeeded in becoming a nurse despite her saying that I was not ready to give up on her.

More importantly, we can celebrate whenever we want, not on a specific day like Valentine’s Day or
your birthday. I can celebrate my birthday for the whole month, so why not? Be open to opportunities that come along the way.

I like to tap my back when I succeed in a seemingly impossible task.  I am learning to play Clarinet, and I have ups and downs. Today, I could play a new note, and I am thrilled. Any small step brings you to a more incredible personal and business achievement.

What are you celebrating this week?

Have a fantastic Valentine’s Week,

Gaétane
